The first Teddy’s started in 1998 to provide great burgers, fries, and shakes in a classic 1950s setting. The concept proved so appealing that they expanded and now have nine locations in Hawaii, three in Japan, and one in South Korea. High quality is an essential part of everything they do. Beef burgers, for example, are hand-made daily from only 100% ground chuck steak.
Teddy’s features nine specialty burgers and seven regular burgers, including options for vegetarians and vegans. Our favorite is the western burger with cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, and crispy onion rings drizzled with their special sauce. You can find Teddy’s at 98-150 Kaonohi St. C-115, Aiea, and they’re open daily from 10 am.
Mega-Load Burgers
Mega-Load doesn’t offer a sit-down service, as it’s a food truck. They follow a set route through Mililani Town and can even deliver your burger or burgers to your door. You can order on their website, by phone, by email, or by flagging down the truck when you see it. They’ve been providing amazing burgers for more than seven years, and the owner is a graduate of the Gros Bonet Culinary Academy in Honolulu.
There are six burgers to choose from, and you have the options of 2oz sliders, 1/4lb, or 1/3lb patties. They also offer a choice of bun, cheese, and condiments. We like the barnyard burger, with beef patty, bacon, cheese, and a fried, boneless chicken thigh, all covered in spicy aioli sauce.
HI Sliders
Some of the tastiest burgers in town can be found at HI Sliders in Mililani Shopping Center at 95-221 Kipapa Drive, Mililani. Ordering is easy, as you grab a table and order online, and they send you a text when your food is available for collection. To make the process even easier, you can download their free app to save ordering time.
They offer a choice of five different burgers, including their delicious black bean burger, which is a favorite of our vegetarian friends. It’s made from a hand-made black bean patty, red onion, fresh avocado, Swiss cheese, and sriracha sauce. As their name implies, all their burgers are available as 2oz sliders.
